AI without the hypeFor normal peopleEst. Santa Barbara

You don’t need to understand AI.
You need one thing that works.

Everyone has been told this changes everything. Almost nobody has been told where to actually start. I’m Peter — artist, engineer, thirty years of building things — and this site is the plain-language version I wish someone had handed me.

01 / What this is

A calm place to figure this out.

There are roughly nine million people online right now explaining how AI will change your life. Most of them are selling a course. This is the other thing: a small, free, plainly-written site that assumes you are smart, busy, and not remotely interested in becoming a prompt engineer.

I’m not going to tell you AI changes everything. Some of it changes a great deal. Most of it is noise. Sorting those two out is the entire point of this site.

For / 01

People who feel behind

You keep hearing you should be using this. You opened it once, typed something, got a wall of text, and closed the tab. That is a completely normal first experience and it is not your fault.

For / 02

Creatives who are suspicious

You have real, legitimate concerns about what this does to creative work. I do too — I’ve painted and sculpted my whole life. There is still a version of this that helps you without replacing you, and it’s worth knowing where that line sits.

For / 03

People with a specific problem

You don’t want to learn AI. You want the paperwork to take less time, or the emails to stop piling up, or one specific recurring headache to become smaller. Good. That’s the right way in.

02 / The honest version

Five things nobody says out loud.

If you read nothing else here, read these. They will save you months.

03 / Where to go

Pick the door that sounds like you.

Path / 01

“I have never really used this.”

Begin at the beginning. A short, ordered set of first steps that takes about twenty minutes and ends with one thing genuinely working.

Path / 02

“What is it actually good at?”

An honest map of where this helps, where it’s mediocre, and where using it is an actively bad idea. Organised by real life, not by feature.

Path / 03

“I’d rather someone just showed me.”

Sometimes an hour with a patient human beats a month of reading. I do a small number of one-to-one sessions for exactly this.

How sessions work
No catch

Everything written here is free.

There is no course, no funnel, no email sequence waiting for you. If the guides are all you ever need, that is a completely fine outcome and I’ll consider it a success.
